Help us to educate tomorrow's data scientists. Submit a video (10 minutes or less) showing how you are using the SPM software suite on real-world data. Registrants will have access to the software for 6 months at no charge. Register or contact if you are interested in participating.


This contest is for students, professors, post-doctoral candidates, and employees of academic institutions.
The video may be any YouTube-compatible file. Examples:
  • A computer screen recording (like PowerPoint) with audio (using Camtasia, or other screen-recording tools),
  • Video presentation recording (using webcam, camera, smart phone, or other),
  • A combination of both.
The video must include:
  • The data mining challenge
  • Your solution
  • Results and explanation
  • Written transcript of key video content (word-for-word unnecessary, paragraph format acceptable)

Winning videos will be evaluated on:

  • Relevance to current data mining challenges
  • Quality of results
  • Clarity of explanation

Winner reward:
  1. Grand Prize: $500 Amazon gift card and publication on the Salford Systems website.
  2. Ten winners will receive a $100 Amazon gift card and publication on the Salford Systems website.
  3. First 500 valid submissions will receive a $5 Amazon gift card.

Participants retain copyright ownership. Salford Systems will be allowed to publish and distribute via its YouTube channel and other online channels.
